MED MARINE’s 22,5m Tug Went from Turkey to Her New Home in Lebanon

Beirut Pilotage Station in Port of Beirut has acquired a 22,5m coastal tug from Turkish shipbuilder Med Marine.

The vessel is a 22,5m harbour & coastal tug model designed by Robert Allan Ltd.

She has the length of 22,5m, the beam of 8,80m and the depth of 3,66m.

The vessel utilises twin MTU 12V4000M61R engines which develop a total output of 2.280 kW (3.057 bhp) with a free sailing speed of 12.0 knots and bollard pull of 40 tons.

Two Caterpillar 2438B gensets provide total 2*75 ekw electrical powers for vessel services, including the deck machinery. The vessel drives two Promarine twin screw propellers of 2.080 mm diameter. There are two Masson-supplied MMW7400 model reverse reduction gearboxes with 5,259:1 reduction ratio.

The fire-fighting system has been supplied by Marsis and delivers 1.200m3/hr to two electrically-controlled monitors.

The tugboat has accommodation for 6 people. It is climate-controlled and includes a captain’s cabin, an officer cabin and two double crew cabins.

Med Marine delivered Med Yarımca, a Ramparts 2500W tugboat to its national fleet last November. Another RAmparts 2500W was delivered to Arpaş Pilotage and Towage last month.

Construction of 2 more RAmparts 2500W tugboats has commenced. The company continues the construction of 6 tugboats of RAmparts 2300-MM, an exclusive Robert Allan Design for Med Marine, 2 pilot and 9 mooring boat projects.
