New entry for the fleet of tugboats controlled by the joint venture which includes Rimorchiatori Mediterranei, Fratelli Neri and Rimorchiatori Laziali
Nemeca Z Maritime Company, a Greek port towing company owned by the Zouros Group and since 2020 controlled by the Italian Fintowage Srl (joint venture between Rimorchiatori Mediterranei, Fratelli Neri and Rimorchiatori Laziali of the Cafimar Group), has just celebrated the christening of the tug Dias Z entered in the fleet a few months after the arrival of the Iraklis Z. With this double of purchases the company reports that it has respected the investment commitment of 32 million euros that it had announced.
Recently built, the Dias Z is a Robert Allan RA2500W model tug built and delivered by the Med Marine Shipyard in Eregli, Turkey, and has a fixed point pulling power of 75 tonnes. The vessel is a compact and very powerful 25 x 12 meter unit equipped with two MTU main engines with a total output of 5,150 hp, thrusters supplied by Kongsberg, a bow towing winch and other equipment.
Registered under the Greek flag, it has already started operating alongside the other 11 units owned and managed by the company.
“This latest addition to the fleet will enable Nemeca Z to have more powerful and state-of-the-art capabilities to meet the needs of increasingly larger vessels calling at Greek ports and terminals, particularly at HelPe facilities and the Port of Piraeus ” explains the shipping company that owns the vehicle. “Dias Z is another vessel equipped with FiFi1 fire suppression system and equipment to provide a stand-by safety response to emergencies and the environment in local ports and coastal waters of Greece. With this latest new entry Nemeca Z continues the renewal of its fleet in terms of type, power and capacity”.
