The leading Italian operator places another newbuilding order at Med Marine

Turkey’s leading tugboat operator and shipbuilder Med Marine and S.E.R.S. SRL, a company belonging to top Italian tug operator, Rimorchiatori Riuniti Group, signed a newbuilding contract.

The vessel is a Ramparts 2500W class tugboat designed by Robert Allan Ltd.

Previously Med Marine successfully completed the constructions of the same design tugboats with different bollard pull options both for its own national fleet and international clients.

The new tug, which will be delivered to Ravenna in December 2019, will feature 70 tonnes bollard pull with enhanced ship-handling, coastal towing, escort performances.

She has the following dimensions:

Length, Overall:                   25,20m

Breadth, Moulded:             12,00m

Depth, Moulded:                 4,60m

She is going to utilise MTU 16V4000M63L engines which develop a total output of 2100 kW at 1800 rpm with a free sailing speed of 12.0 knots. The vessel is going to be equipped with Rolls Royce US255 thrusters with 2,7m dia. She is going to have THR Marine supplied winches and the escort winch for shelter water.

The design has an accommodation space for 7 persons. MLC-compliant high-quality and great-comfort accommodation is climate-controlled and includes three single, two double cabins.

Med Marine and Rimorchiatori Riuniti previously signed a newbuilding contract for a RAstar 3000-W tugboat last March. The 3080 ASD vessel is going to be delivered to Tug Malta Ltd, a company belonging to Rimorchiatori Riuniti Group operating in Malta, on April 1, 2019.
