A hybrid workboat ‘Geer’ (re)built in the past by Waternet for their ambitious plan to sail climate-neutral is the showpiece at an international boat auction. The boat is specially built to experience electric sailing, is ahead of its time and is now available for market parties. The auctioneer expects that the waternet boats will receive the necessary interest from both wet contractors and transport companies via water.

Auctioneer Bolweg: ‘De Geer is a special workboat because he was one of the first workboats to be made diesel-electric and was used for the work of Waternet. Waternet is at the forefront of the development of green sailing and is rapidly continuing to make its fleet fully electric in order to be completely climate neutral and set an example in the market. A buyer that now wins this boat can immediately use it for commercial use and gain knowledge with electric sailing without making a large investment’.

In addition to the Geer, there is a robust inspection vessel from the Damen shipyard and a workboat of the Beenakker model in the auction.  Both in good condition with diesel engines. Because these vessels do not fit in the climate neutral fleet anymore, they are now sold but are certainly usable.

Bootveiling.com has sold over 300 boats from business and private ownership through an online auction in the past year. The boats are auctioned because the owners would like to hand over their boats so that they will be actively sailed again by enthusiastic new users.
